Air Travel is non-stop from Fort Lauderdale and Miami to Medellin and offered by several carriers. Travel time in around three and one-half hours. Medorg can assist you from these destinations. We can help make arrangements from Miami International Airport or Fort Lauderdale International Airport.
No, our providers have offices in Bogota, Cali, Cartagena and Barranquilla. Although we have visited the Medellin locations, we have not visited all of our providers other locations.
Practical and additional aspects
If you have a USA provider, Medorg suggests you call for the rates of the International Plans. You can also buy a local SIM Card in Colombia. The internet is very good in Colombia so if you want to use WhatsApp, Telegram or other communication APP, you can avoid the additional cost of an International Plan.
You will need a valid USA passport valid for six months after your return date from Colombia. You are allowed to stay in Colombia for six months and no Visa is required. Keep in mind you must show a round trip or return ticket on many airlines.
Costs can vary widely depending on the procedure, but generally, medical expenses in Colombia can be significantly lower than in the U.S. or Europe, often by 50-70%.
