Many years ago, I was just a young boy when I saw a beautiful girl walk into our 7th grade classroom. Little did I know, that girl would later become my wife and the love of my life for 46 years. Together, we raised two wonderful daughters, and built a life full of love and joy. But 29 years ago, we faced one of the hardest battles: breast cancer. My wife endured a mastectomy as part of her treatment, and while we fought the disease together, I also witnessed how cosmetic surgery offered her a new sense of self. Through reconstructive surgery, she regained not just the physical appearance she cherished but also the confidence and outlook on life that helped her continue living fully, right up until her passing.
